In 1977, Estrela licensed G.I. Joe from Hasbro, with its version being called [gcd_link_feature](927) and Comandos em Ação, with comics published by [gcd_link_publisher](15547). In 1984, it launched G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero again using the Comandos em Ação brand. The company continued licensing franchises from Hasbro, Mattel, and Kenner, with minicomics from the Masters of the Universe and Super Powers franchises published in the 1980s. Estrela stopped licensing franchises when these companies decided to establish branches in the country, Mattel in 1998 and Hasbro in 2008. Hasbro sued Estrela for trademark violations. In 2008, Hasbro sued the company over non-payment of royalties related to products that Estrela sold under license since 1970. The last contract between the companies was valid until 2007 and was not renewed due to Hasbro opening its own branch in the country. Two years after the relaunch of Falcon, in 2019 Estrela won a partial victory in the first instance regarding Falcon, and in the same year it published a Falcon comic book titled Falcon: Operação Primus. In 2021, the Court of Justice of São Paulo confirmed the decision and ruled that Estrela should destroy the toys. In the decision, it was determined that Detective, also known internationally as Clue and originally as Cluedo, Guess Who? also known in Brazil as Cara a Cara, Battleship also known in Brazil as Combate, Simon also known in Brazil as Genius, The Game of Life also known in Brazil as Jogo da Vida, Play-Doh also known in Brazil as Super Massa, Jogo da Vida Moderna, and Vida em Jogo belong to Hasbro, while Comandos em Ação, Comandos em Ação Falcon, Mrs. Potato Head also known in Brazil as Senhora Cabeça de Batatas, and Monopoly also known in Brazil as Banco Imobiliário are owned by Estrela.
