After these one-shots, DC Versus Marvel / Marvel Versus DC #4 saw the DC and Marvel universes separated, and the Amalgam Universe ceased to exist.\r\n\r\nLater, in DC / Marvel: All Access (DC, 1996 series) #4, the Amalgam Universe was recreated by Dr. Strangefate.\r\n\r\nTwelve further one-shots were released by DC and Marvel (six each) under the Amalgam Comics brand in 1997, some continuing the characters depicted in the original twelve issues from the year before.\r\n\r\nDesignated Earth-496 by DC, and Earth-9602 by Marvel.",

Other DC/Marvel collaborations followed and some (although not all) took place in this same shared universe.\r\n\r\nIn 2006, Marvel confirmed in the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe that most of their crossovers with other publishers (such as Backlash / Spider-Man (Image, 1996 series) and Shi / Daredevil: Honor Thy Mother (Crusade, 1997 series)) also took place in this same shared universe.",

"notes": "The mainstream DC Comics universe began in New Fun (DC, 1935 series) #1 (February 1935) with the publication of new stories.\r\n\r\nThe fact that DC Comics characters coexisted in the same world was first established in All-Star Comics (DC, 1940 series) #3 (Winter 1940), where several superheroes met each other in a group dubbed the Justice Society of America.\r\n\r\nWhen the mainstream universe Flash met the Golden Age Flash from a parallel universe, the concept of a multiverse was implemented. The home of the Justice League became Earth-One (the mainstream universe) and the home of the Justice Society became Earth-Two. First appearance of Earth-One in The Flash (DC, 1959 series) #123 (September 1961); named in Justice League of America (DC, 1960 series) #21 (August 1963).\r\n\r\nA single New Earth was formed from the merger of the five remaining Earths of the multiverse in Crisis on Infinite Earths (DC, 1985 series) #11 (February 1986).\r\n\r\nA new multiverse consisting of only 52 universes was created in Infinite Crisis (DC, 2005 series) #6 (May 2006), with the mainstream universe being designated Earth-0.\r\n\r\nWhen the Flash went back in time and changed history in Flashpoint (DC, 2011 series) #1 (July 2011), the mainstream universe became the Flashpoint universe.\r\n\r\nWhen the Flash's interference in the past was undone in Flashpoint (DC, 2011 series) #5 (Late October 2011), a New 52 universe was formed. Earth-0 was now also referred to as Prime Earth.",

"description": "Following the erasure of Superboy from the history of Superman due to the Crisis on Infinite Earths, the Time Trapper created a Pocket Universe in which life existed only on Earth and Krypton. He manipulated events such that Kal-El was sent from the exploding Krypton to Earth and grew up to become Superboy. Anytime Superboy traveled to the Legion's time, or the Legion traveled to Superboy's time, the Time Trapper would direct them on a path between the 20th century Pocket Universe and the 30th century primary universe. When the Time Trapper's schemes were uncovered, Superboy sacrificed his life to save his world.\r\n\r\nLater, three Kryptonian criminals who had escaped their world's destruction in the Phantom Zone, decimated the Pocket Universe Earth. The Pocket Universe Lex Luthor had created a Supergirl in hopes of fighting the criminals, but it was ultimately Superman from the primary universe who stopped them. Fearing that they would escape and attack his own Earth, Superman executed the criminals for their crimes. Supergirl, the Pocket Universe's only survivor, returned to the primary universe with Superman.\r\n\r\nIn the 30th century, the Legion of Super-Heroes attempted to pull the Pocket Universe Earth into the primary universe to replace their own destroyed Earth. Although they were successful in moving the planet, the Pocket Universe Earth became unstable and was also destroyed.",

His first full appearance was in Hex (DC, 1985 series) #10 (June 1986); he then appeared a week later in Legion of Super-Heroes (DC, 1984 series) #23 (June 1986). Superboy died in Legion of Super-Heroes (DC, 1984 series) #38 (September 1987).\r\n\r\nMatrix, the Pocket Universe Supergirl, first appeared in Superman (DC, 1987 series) #16 (April 1988). She was brought back to the primary universe in issue #22 (October 1988).\r\n\r\nThe Legionnaires pulled the Pocket Universe Earth into the primary universe in Valor (DC, 1992 series) #22 (August 1994).",
